Music News: part 2. Oud

For quite a while, my pal Russ and I have been getting together to write pieces for acoustic guitar and oud. I’ve never worked on a completely acoustic project before (aside from a few gigs where I played double bass) so this has been a full-on learning process.

Last week, Russ and I listened back to our demos and agreed the sequence of tunes so that we can record them properly. We hope to have that done soon so they can be mixed (that shouldn’t be too hard) and mastered. We are hoping to release the album in the first half of this year and, in a move frighteningly like a sensible bit of promotion, we’ll do a few gigs.
